4 Signs Pointing to the Need for an AC Tune-Up

Giving your air conditioning system a tune-up can help you avoid costly repairs and keep your air conditioner running smoothly. Home Air Services, one of the leading  HVAC companies  in the area, shares four signs that point to the need to schedule service before the summer season.

1. Warm Air Blowing Out of Your AC Unit

Your AC system is supposed to distribute cool air throughout your home. However, if you’re noticing that it is blowing warm air, check if the thermostat is set to a different mode. If not, inspect the condition of your HVAC filters. If cleaning or replacing them doesn’t fix the issue, get in touch with your local HVAC technician to identify the issue.

2. Inconsistent Temperatures Among Rooms

The temperature throughout your home should be even. However, if most of the rooms feel comfortable but one or two aren’t, there could be a problem with a unit. Schedule a tune-up with your trusted  air conditioning repair  technician to make sure there’s no issues with the ductwork or the actual AC equipment itself.

3. Weird Sounds Coming From the AC Unit

An air conditioning unit in operation usually produces subtle noises. But if you notice that it is making odd noises all of a sudden, it is a good sign that you need to have it serviced. Make sure to not delay the inspection so that a technician can determine whether there is a malfunction in one of the internal components.

4. Strange Odors

If your home starts smelling stale, there may be moisture inside the AC unit that has prompted the growth of mold and mildew in your home. A tune-up can determine if this is the case. The technician will first remove the housing of the outdoor unit and give it a thorough cleaning and inspection to check for signs of moisture.

HVAC installation companies  including Home Air Services recommend that you do not delay inspections and tune-ups. We will make sure that your HVAC system is working properly and ready for the hottest summer days. Call us now at (301) 585-8100 or fill out our  contact form  for a service request.
