When it comes to scheduling an HVAC replacement, it’s recommended that you get quotes from several different air conditioner maintenance companies in order to compare prices. Remember, the cheapest quote doesn’t guarantee a quality check, and the most expensive company won’t always be the best.
Planning out your HVAC replacement can be a smooth process if you know what to expect. Below Home Air Services explains what usually happens:
Purchasing a unit that’s too large or too small for the square footage of your home isn’t really efficient; in fact, it can even result in higher energy bills. Also, consider the energy efficiency ratings on the label and whether the product is ENERGY STAR®-certified so you’ll know how its efficiency can benefit your home. To do this, you’ll need to research the best model and size of unit for your property before the actual HVAC replacement. You should also hire the right contractor to do the job.
As soon as they arrive, the installers you hire from a trusted air conditioning and home heating company will know what to do to install your unit. This involves protecting your flooring and moving furniture to a safer location if needed. Your old unit will be carefully disconnected and removed from your home, then the replacement system will be installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Upon completion, pressure and vacuum tests are performed and optimized. After a complete inspection of the new HVAC system, refrigerant is added to it, activated and retested to ensure all components are working properly. After all testing is complete, your HVAC contractor should go over the proper operation of the new system and warranty information with you, then address any other concerns.

Dear Customers,
We here at Home Air Services hope that you and your families are well in these difficult and unprecedented times. We are pleased to confirm that we are currently operating for both new equipment installations and service / maintenance work. We are here to support you during these trying times. Our office hours are Monday – Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Our phones and website are fully operational. If calling outside of our normal working hours, you will have the option to forward your call to our emergency duty technician.
With regard to COVID-19 our technicians are taking all possible precautions (temperature, booties, masks, etc.) but please let us know if you have any specific requests. In the case of an air-conditioning maintenance, the primary work can be done to the outside unit only. (at your request) Another option is to leave access available to the indoor HVAC portion, so the technician doesn’t need to come in contact with anyone in your household. (basement door unlocked for example) This will allow you to keep your distance and still care for your HVAC system. Our hope is that everyone stays safe and well, and we will get through this together.
